Any parent knows that childcare drop-off/pick-up is not always smooth sailing

Norton Plaza at Leichhardt, is a high performing neighbourhood shopping centre anchored by a full line Coles supermarket, Harris Farm and All About Children childcare centre. 

Located in a popular entertainment precinct the Norton Street entrance was frequently congested, impacting traffic flow on a major road. It was frustrating for Norton Plaza customers, annoying for through traffic and the last thing a Dad needs after a long day at work and having picked up a tired, hungry child from childcare.

The owners of Norton Plaza identified the problem as a barrier to efficiency and customer preference. 
The strategic decision to install parking guidance has alleviated congestion and created a more positive shopping experience for customers using the 330 bay public parking asset. 

A smart move to reserve ‘parent parking’ bays has also made life easier for parents or carers with little ones in the childcare centre.  During morning Drop Off & Afternoon Pick Up times, amber-coloured parking guidance lights easily identify 'parent parking' bays. The bays are conveniently located  near the main entry enabling a quicker drop-off/pick-up process. The 15 minute timed amber sensors also reduce parking frustration for other customers who can easily see what bays are and are not available to them. Outside of the designated Pick Up & Drop Off times these bays return to Green retail parking bays.
